A SUMMER SURPRISE

Meet Alex..........from "Where The Wild Things Are"
what a surprise to me when I went out to the barn to feed the horses and herd a strange sound coming from one of the stalls. I did have my two goats put with a billy goat last winter/early spring and I was pretty sure that they were both going to have babies but I have no idea when they were bred so did not really know when to expect there kids............He is so dang cute!!!! He is so dang tiny!.......He was about 8in tall and 10 in long. And of course the girls and everyone else that sees him loves him....The other goat should give birth in the next few weeks as far as I can tell.

OH! Susan you are so right, "he is to dang cute", and the young lady holding him is adorable too! We used to raise goats but found that they were a little to hard for us to raise, so dh switched to hair sheep. We have two lambs that were rejected by their mothers that we bottle feed, we are now wondering if they aren't to hard too. lol I have been wanting to post a photo of them feeding and hope to real soon.

Hope your summer is going well, I know you are probably like me busy, busy, usually I am in full swing of canning veggies, but not right now, as we were late planting this year and that has been a good thing with having to repair the house. Our corn and tomatoes will soon be ready and I will be back to preserving them. I also have some herbs I have got to gather and dry. I will probably do this today.
Enjoy that little goat, and tell me if you and the grandchildren are going to name him.
Hugs,
Sue
